Nantes, France

Nantes is the capital of the Pays de la Loire region of France and is only a two-hour train ride from Paris.

Nantes has been named a hub city for innovation and was voted as "the most liveable city in Europe". Nantes was granted the European Green Capital award from the European Commission for its efforts to reduce air pollution and CO2 emissions as well as its impressive public transportation system.

 

 

 


Munich, Germany

 

Matthew Thie tests TFH Instructor from Germany, Nina Hock, in front of Nymphenmburg Schloss Palace in Munich. Including its 490-acre park, the Palace rates as one of the most famous sights in Munich.

For a long time, Nymphenburg Palace was the summer home of Bavarian leaders. Now it is open to the public, however, it also continues to be a home and chancery for the head of the House of Wittelsbach.


Moscow, Russia

TFH Instructor from Russia, Irina Chobanu and daughter Katia, testing in front of the Tchaikovsky Statue. Located in front of Moscow’s State Conservatory, it was placed here in 1954 in honor of the composer, Tchaikovsky (1840-1893).

This statue portrays Tchaikovsky sitting in a moment of creative inspiration while writing his music. He wrote many ballets, symphonies, operas and stage works. Tchaikovsky is best known for his ballets, The Nutcracker, The Sleeping Beauty and Swan Lake.


Siberia

Olkhon Island is the largest lake-bound island in the world. It is located in Baikal Lake which is the oldest and deepest fresh water lake in the world.

Olkon Island has only 1500 residents, however, tourism has been steadily increasing due to its stunning views and is considered a great place to get away from civilization. It is also regarded by many to be a very spiritual place and there are several sacred places located around the island.
